One of the overriding themes was regarding the friendliness of the club, including staff and members.
Most members enjoyed the midday meal, with a few negative responses; we endeavour to accommodate a variety of tastes and preferences regarding food.  We are unable to offer a choice at lunchtime, but if a member doesn’t like the meal served, we will always offer them soup or a sandwich.
The club provides a cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) programme for older adults living with dementia, to improve their well-being.  The CST programme is made of a variety of activities, the survey highlighted that half of the members were particularly keen on the physical activities, the other half stated that they enjoyed taking part in the various activities offered.  Physical activities not only help to maintain cognitive function, they provide physical exercise helping to improve balance, stamina, muscle strength, hand eye co-ordination and bone strengthening weight bearing.  All movement is deemed exercise, so we encourage our members to move as much as possible.
The results of this satisfaction survey go some way to confirm, that our members are happy with the service we are providing and that we are on target in achieving our mission statement.

Mission statement: The Harbour Club exists to provide a specialist day care service for older adults living with dementia, using the principles of Occupational Therapy and purposeful activities with a person-centred approach.
